4 X 4 Hybrid Block Schedule
 Kell
High School will move to a modified hybrid
block schedule.
o YL = Year Long Courses that meet every other
day for the entire school year on A day or B Day
o Y = Year Courses that meet every day for a
semester (Both A and B days)
o .5 = Half a semester courses that meet for 45
days of the semester and part of a required pair

a student and his or her parent /guardian don’t
agree with the core placement recommendation of
the 8th grade teacher, a waiver form must be
submitted to Kell High School counseling.
 Waiver forms can be obtained in the Kell High
School Counseling Department or on the Kell High
School website (www.carltonjkellhighschool.com).
 All waivers must be returned to the Kell High
School Counseling Department by Friday, April 24th.

All students will receive a 9th grade
course elective registration
planning booklet to be used with
their core recommendation
placement on February 23rd.

The NCR (triplicate forms) for
official registration will be handed
out by 8th grade teachers on
Monday, March 9th. Students will
have until Monday, March 16th to
return them to homeroom.
