Multidisciplinary
Multidisciplinary studies programs are not a pre-determined course of study as are most degree
programs, but are rather a unique combination of courses chosen by a student based upon his
or her specific educational and career interests. Students typically combine courses from up to
three disciplines.
A student might choose a multidisciplinary studies program if his or her specific goals and
interests cannot be met through a school's existing majors, minors and electives.
Multidisciplinary studies are also an option for students to combine completed coursework from
various disciplines and want to combine them into a single degree program.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY STUDIES cont…
China Spring High School Multidisciplinary career pathway includes
one of the following:
• 4 X 4 content area (4 credits in each the core subjects including
Math, Science, Social Studies and English Language Arts )
• 4 X 4 content area with Honors – must have 4 credits that are AP
and/or dual credit, or a combination.
Overall, multidisciplinary studies program breaks traditional
boundaries of course curricula and offers a broader learning experience
as you pursue your personal and professional interests.
In a multidisciplinary studies degree program, you'll develop skills in
logic and integrative thinking in addition to communication, writing
and research.
