Post-doctoral Fellow at the Hannover Medical School Immune-Gene Therapy for Cancer Start Date August 2011 Department of Hematology, Hemostasis, Oncology and Stem Cell Transplantation Laboratory of Lymphatic Cell Therapy - Rebirth Excellence Cluster Prof. Dr. Renata Stripecke (www.stripecke-mhh.de) The Hannover Medical School (www.mh-hannover.de) is a site of excellence for biomedical research in Germany. During the next years, our major focus is translational development of novel therapies from the bench to the bedside. The Laboratory of Lymphatic Cell Therapy (www.stripecke-mhh.de) is focused on immune-regenerative approaches using genetically programmed dendritic cells tailored for cancer and viral infections. The open position is funded by the Deutsche Krebshilfe and has as mission the GMP production and Q/C analyses of lentivirus transduced dendritic cells, clinical trial development and immune monitoring. This full-time position is initially for one year (desirable start August 2011) with possibility of renewals. Salary ranking is commensurate with qualifications (E13 – E14). Specific requirements: PhD or MD/PhD title obtained within last 3-5 years and strong publication record. Candidates should have demonstrated solid previous experience with: ex vivo culture and characterization of human dendritic cells and T cells, immunologic assays (Tetramer analyses, CTL/ Th cytokine profile characterization, ELISPOT), multicolor analytical flow cytometry, RT-Q-PCR and development of standard operating procedures for GMP. Experimental work is performed in a S2 biosafety level laboratory and requires previous experience with molecular biology techniques and lentiviral vector production. Excellent organizational skills, initiative, responsibility, team-work, fluency (verbal and written) in English and German, strong computer skills for data analyses and presentation.
