Elluminate v9 available, but maybe not
completely ready
Issues? Questions?

Phase One: July 08 through March 09
◦ Everything currently supported by WAOL moved
from Blackboard to ANGEL
 All current WAOL users got ANGEL account October
 Not a current WAOL user?
 Self-registration —gives instructor account and practice
classroom
 Training focus on experienced Blackboard users who
are moving to ANGEL
 Continue to use existing WAOL processes (WAOL ID
numbers, Intent to Teach forms, etc.)

Phase Two: March 09 through June 09
◦ Services new from WAOL
 Implement individual college domains and admin
access
 Setting up domains now
 Testing admin access and branding now
 All training in ANGEL—next training course starts
December
 Training for ePortfolio (which is available in every
classroom now—just no training)



All instructors who were active on WAOL
Blackboard since Fall 07 have ANGEL
instructor accounts with practice classrooms
All accounts will be created with the WAOL
prefix waol_ first initial last name
These are practice classrooms that are not
linked to any existing WAOL classrooms




College ELCs will receive a flat file that can be
used to create instructor accounts in WAOL
ANGEL.
The user IDs created by these files will have
the college prefix (bates_first initial last
name….yvc_first initial last name)
Be aware of the potential confusion when
some instructors get multiple accounts.
Practice classrooms are not named for
teaching—teaching classrooms will be
designated by quarter/year.

Self-registration process
◦ Gives instructor-level account and practice
◦ Requires a coupon code that will be managed by
college ELCs
◦ Link and code sent to ELC


Instructors teaching on WAOL ANGEL for
Winter 09 have received a named classroom
for Winter
WHO will be teaching on ANGEL Winter 09?
◦ All instructors with system-owned shared
classrooms
◦ Fall pilot instructors if they choose
◦ New pilot instructors

Okay with everyone to automatically create a
guest account for every classroom?
Winter pilots CLOSED



So colleges don’t start to enroll students
without the WAOL ID number
So instructors have time to work on ANGEL
classrooms
So WAOL staff can get Winter 09 set up and
continue to move forward on other migration
tasks



Instructors can export Blackboard (or other
CMS) content from existing classrooms and
migrate into ANGEL classroom
OR they can build the new ANGEL classroom
by bringing over content piece by piece
WAOL staff will help if faculty have trouble
exporting content, but it’s easy.


The job search to rehire a faculty trainer will
close November 21.


If you have other materials or opportunities
to share, please let us know and we’ll post.
◦ Additional materials
◦ Training/orientation sessions in Elluminate
◦ Regional face-to-face training



This is a draft, a proposal—not approved by
anyone yet.
Proposed cost model starting Winter 09
 $2 per user per quarter, active in one or more Angel
courses
 Based on how WAOL pays ANGEL
 Eportfolio and community groups free if colleges using
WAOL to support online courses
 One guest account per classroom free
 Faculty will be charged as active users (if they are active)
 Only active accounts get charged (so you can upload
everybody)
December 1, 2008, 11:00 to noon
