You will need to complete to complete the
Pop Art and Color Theory Worksheet before
you can do the project for this lesson.

Pop Art Project


For this portion of the project you will use
Photofiltre software to alter one of the digital
photographs found in the Caywood shared
folder located in the “S” drive.
You will use one of the photos to create an
Andy Warhol inspired self-portrait.
Directions- read & follow them carefully



Open Photofiltre using the icon
in the launcher
Use the pull down menu under file, scroll down
to “open”, go the Caywood shared folder in the
“S” drive, and select a photo of yourself.
Crop the photo so your face is the primary
subject. You can do this by using the select
tool. The crop command is in the pull down
menu under “image”.
Black & White Duo Tone

Use the duo-tone feature under the “Adjust”
Use the slid bar under
threshold to adjust the
image. Click OK when you
are please with it.
Before printing the black
and white duo-tone
reverse the image. You
can do this by using the
Flip horizontal command
under “image”. Print one
copy of it following the
print instructions on the
next slide
Printing Instructions
Go the file and scroll
down to print. The
window pictured here
will appear. You can
adjust the image size.
Adjust the image size to
as close to 6 x 9” as
possible. Remember to
click OK after you
adjust the width and
height. Click on setup
to select the HP 4200
black & white printer.
Place the print in your art folder. You will need this image for a printmaking
project we will do in several weeks.

colors using the

To complete this assignment you will need to
reference the color theory section on your
worksheet.
Print out 3 copies of the same photos using a
different color scheme on each one. For color
schemes that need more than two colors use the
paint brush tool.
The photos should be sized to the same dimensions
as close to 5”x7” as you can make them. The next
slide has print instructions

color printer.
Put the printed photos in your art folder. You’ll need them when we return to
the art room. Print the rubric to turn in with your final project.
