What you need to know
All students are required to have 1500 hours to be licensed
in North Carolina.
All hours may be obtained through pharmacy school.
To register any additional hours completed outside of the
school program, please fill out the North Carolina Practical
Pharmacy Experience Affidavit and submit to the North
Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
o The affidavit must be filed within 30 days of your graduation date
from pharmacy school.
If you are planning to be licensed outside of NC, internship
hour requirements may vary.
You should contact that state for specifics.
After the exam
NABP will provide your scores electronically to the North
Carolina Board within 3-5 days after your test date.
Debbie will then enter them into the database which you
will be able to access using your Exam Candidate number.
Your score will also be viewable on NABP’s website.
Please do not call the board to see if your scores have been
received. When we have it, you’ll have it.
A passing grade of at least 75 is required for both the
NAPLEX and MPJE.
If you fail the NAPLEX, you will have an opportunity to retake
the exam after 91 days.
If you fail the MPJE, you will have an opportunity to retake
the exam after 30 days.
Please visit NABP’s website to re-register for the exams.
You may have your NAPLEX score transmitted to an
additional state(s) through NABP.
Score Transfer requests may be submitted up to 90 days
after sitting for the NAPLEX.
You can select additional jurisdictions during the exam
registration process or submit score transfer requests
separately after you sit for the scheduled exam.
The fee for each score transfer is $75.

You are now a licensed Pharmacist!!
Reminders
All renewals are annual.
To renew your license, you must Log In through our
homepage. All renewals are done online via the Board’s
website.
The renewal period begins November 1 of every year and
ends December 31 of every year.
The renewal fee is $135.
For your FIRST renewal, you are not required to obtain any CE.
For all future renewals, you will have to obtain 15 total hours, with
8 required live hours.
Up to 5 surplus CE hours may be carried over to the next year.
The annual CE Audit is conducted in September of each year.
Live vs Correspondence Hours (ACPE courses)
CPE Monitor is a national, collaborative effort by NABP and
the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) to
provide an electronic system for pharmacists to track their
completed continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits.
Now, state boards will be able to electronically authenticate
the CPE units completed by their licensees rather then
requiring them to submit the actual certificate during a CE
Audit.
You will be required to set up an e-Profile through NABP’s
website.
