Eph. 6:10-20
Be Subject To One Another In
The Fear of Christ
1. What does it mean to be subject to one
another?
2. Principles of being subject to one
another in the fear of Christ
3. Practice of being subject to one another
in the fear of Christ
2
Introduction
• Paul had written previously of how he had
prayed for the Ephesians to be strengthen
with power in the inner man through the
Holy Spirit
• By the gospel, they and we are saved from
our sins and strengthened to put off the
old self and put on the new self
• In the gospel, Paul reveals God’s full
armor which, if we put it on, will strengthen
3
us in the Lord to stand against Satan
Introduction
• This full armor provides strength from God
and involves God’s powerful gospel
working in us
• The full armor also involves the powerful
God working for us through answering our
prayers
• As mentioned before, unless we diligently
apply the Word of God, we will fall back
into the old way of life patterned after the

Devil
Put On The Full Armor of God
1. Why do we need to put on the full armor
of God? Eph. 6:10-13
2. What are the parts of the full armor of
God? Eph. 6:14-20
5
Why Do We Need To Put On
The Full Armor Of God?
Eph 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and
in the strength of His might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the full armor of God, so
that you will be able to stand firm against the
schemes of the devil.
6
Why Do We Need To Put On
The Full Armor Of God?
Eph 6:12 For our struggle is not against
flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the powers, against the world forces
of this darkness, against the spiritual forces
of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Eph 6:13 Therefore, take up the full armor
of God, so that you will be able to resist in
the evil day, and having done everything, to
stand firm.
7
Without Strength From The Lord
We Cannot Serve Him
Eph 1:19 and what is the surpassing
greatness of His power toward us who
believe. These are in accordance with the
working of the strength of His might
Eph 1:20 which He brought about in Christ,
when He raised Him from the dead and
seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly
places,
8
Without Strength From The Lord
We Cannot Serve Him
Eph 3:16 that He would grant you,
according to the riches of His glory, to be
strengthened with power through His Spirit
in the inner man,
Eph 3:17 so that Christ may dwell in your
hearts through faith; and that you, being
rooted and grounded in love,
9
Without Strength From The Lord
We Cannot Serve Him
Eph 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do far
more abundantly beyond all that we ask or
think, according to the power that works
within us,
Eph 3:21 to Him be the glory in the church
and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever
and ever. Amen.
10
Without God’s Armor We Cannot Stand
Firm and Victorious Over Satan
1Co 10:12 Therefore let him who thinks he
stands take heed that he does not fall.
1Pe 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under
the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt
you at the proper time,
1Pe 5:7 casting all your anxiety on Him,
because He cares for you.
1Pe 5:8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert.
Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like
11
a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
Without God’s Armor We Cannot Stand
Firm and Victorious Over Satan
1Pe 5:9 But resist him, firm in your faith,
knowing that the same experiences of
suffering are being accomplished by your
brethren who are in the world.
1Pe 5:10 After you have suffered for a little
while, the God of all grace, who called you
to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself
perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish
you.
12
Gird Loins With The Truth
Eph 6:14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING
GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and
HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF
RIGHTEOUSNESS,
Eph 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be
children, tossed here and there by waves
and carried about by every wind of doctrine,
by the trickery of men, by craftiness in
deceitful scheming;
13
Gird Loins With The Truth
Eph 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we
are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is
the head, even Christ,
Eph 4:16 from whom the whole body, being
fitted and held together by what every joint
supplies, according to the proper working of
each individual part, causes the growth of
the body for the building up of itself in love.
14
Put On The Breastplate of
Righteousness
Eph 6:14 Stand firm therefore, HAVING
GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and
HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF
RIGHTEOUSNESS,
Php 3:9 and may be found in Him, not
having a righteousness of my own derived
from the Law, but that which is through faith
in Christ, the righteousness which comes
from God on the basis of faith,
15
Put On The Breastplate of
Righteousness
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared,
bringing salvation to all men,
Tit 2:12 instructing us to deny ungodliness
and worldly desires and to live sensibly,
righteously and godly in the present age,
16
Put On The Breastplate of
Righteousness
Tit 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and
the appearing of the glory of our great God
and Savior, Christ Jesus,
Tit 2:14 who gave Himself for us to redeem
us from every lawless deed, and to purify for
Himself a people for His own possession,
zealous for good deeds.
17
Shod With Preparation of The
Gospel of Peace
Eph 6:15 and having shod YOUR FEET
WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE
GOSPEL OF PEACE;
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the
gospel, for it is the power of God for
salvation to everyone who believes, to the
Jew first and also to the Greek.
18
Shod With Preparation of The
Gospel of Peace
Rom 10:14 How then will they call on Him in
whom they have not believed? How will they
believe in Him whom they have not heard?
And how will they hear without a preacher?
Rom 10:15 How will they preach unless
they are sent? Just as it is written, "HOW
BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE
WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD
THINGS!"
19
Take Up The Shield of Faith
Eph 6:16 in addition to all, taking up the
shield of faith with which you will be able to
extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil
one.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of
things hoped for, the conviction of things not
seen.
Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing,
and hearing by the word of Christ.
20
Take The Helmet of Salvation
Eph 6:17 And take THE HELMET OF
SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
1Th 5:8 But since we are of the day, let us
be sober, having put on the breastplate of
faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of
salvation.
21
Take The Helmet of Salvation
1Th 5:9 For God has not destined us for
wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our
Lord Jesus Christ,
1Th 5:10 who died for us, so that whether
we are awake or asleep, we will live together
with Him.
22
Take The Sword of The Spirit
Eph 6:17 And take THE HELMET OF
SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God.
Heb 4:1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a
promise remains of entering His rest, any
one of you may seem to have come short of
it.
23
Take The Sword of The Spirit
Heb 4:2 For indeed we have had good
news preached to us, just as they also; but
the word they heard did not profit them,
because it was not united by faith in those
who heard.
24
Take The Sword of The Spirit
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and
active and sharper than any two-edged
sword, and piercing as far as the division of
soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow,
and able to judge the thoughts and
intentions of the heart.
25
Pray Being Alert For All The
Saints
Eph 6:18 With all prayer and petition pray at
all times in the Spirit, and with this in view,
be on the alert with all perseverance and
petition for all the saints,
Eph 6:19 and pray on my behalf, that
utterance may be given to me in the opening
of my mouth, to make known with boldness
the mystery of the gospel,
26
Pray Being Alert For All The
Saints
Eph 6:20 for which I am an ambassador in
chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak
boldly, as I ought to speak.
Mat 26:41 "Keep watching and praying that
you may not enter into temptation; the spirit
is willing, but the flesh is weak."
27
Pray Being Alert For All The
Saints
Col 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer,
keeping alert in it with an attitude of
thanksgiving;
Col 4:3 praying at the same time for us as
well, that God will open up to us a door for
the word, so that we may speak forth the
mystery of Christ, for which I have also been
imprisoned;
Col 4:4 that I may make it clear in the way I
28
ought to speak.
Pray Being Alert For All The
Saints
Col 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of your
number, a bondslave of Jesus Christ, sends
you his greetings, always laboring earnestly
for you in his prayers, that you may stand
perfect and fully assured in all the will of
God.
