What is auditing?
• Auditing is a systematic process of
objectively obtaining and evaluating
evidence regarding assertions about
economic actions and events to ascertain the
degree of correspondence between those
assertions and established criteria and
communicating the results to interested
users (in Report of the Committee on Basic Auditing
Concept of the American Accounting Association)

steps and procedures.
• Objectively Obtaining and Evaluating Evidence examining and
evaluating evidence (assertions) without bias or prejudice
• Assertion refers to management statement towards its business entity
in term of financial matters.
