Current Software Status

• • •

Installing CERN Redhat v7.2 and Daq_CMS_Like software on rod assembly test stand computer

2 graduate students assisting Control of CAEN SY127 HV crate with A1303

Integrated with Daq_CMS_Like software

Temperature control of Rochester “freezer” and software interlocks being developed using Labview

Current Software

• •

Use XROD for readout during rod assembly

• •

No multiplexer support To readout 1 SS4 rod (12 UTRI connections) need 2 FED (16 UTRI connections)

To readout 1 DS4 rod (24 UTRI connections) need 3 FED (24 UTRI connections) Use Long Term Test for Rods

• • • • •

Interface with Rochester “freezer” controls via TCP/IP Currently works with 1 FED and 1 FEC Only tested with 1 CCU -> 6 modules Cable length could be an issue with 2+ CCU on one FEC Limited to 80 UTRI connections with 1 FED+multiplexer

• 4x10 = 40 pairs or 2x10 = 20 triplets • Readout 6 SS4 rods (6 rods x 6 mods x 1 pair = 36 pairs) • Readout 3 DS4 rods (3 rods x 12 mods x 1 pair = 36 pairs) • Readout 3 SS6 rods (3 rods x 6 mods x 1 triplet = 18 triplets)

Software Considerations

• • •

Extend Long Term Test to multiple rods

• •

Add support for N FED with N multiplexers Gives Nx80 UTRI connections Extend XROD to multiple rods

• • • •

Add multiplexer support to readout multiple rods(?) Or add support for 4+ FED(?) Need separate temp and voltage control programs No unattended readout Use XDAQ?

No experience using it

Conclusions

• •

Current software can support initial rate of rod assembly testing and long term testing Need to extend software to support full rate of rod long term testing
