HINO HYBRID-KEY SPECIFICATIONS • KEY SPECIFICATIONS: – GVM - 6,500kg – GCM - 10,000kg – Wheelbase - 3,430mm – Transmission - Overdrive with mechanical control (Synchromesh 1st to 6th) HINO HYBRID-KEY SPECIFICATIONS • DIESEL ENGINE: Four-litre, intercooled, turbo-charged, common-rail four-cylinder diesel engine generating 110kW of power at 3,000rpm and 392Nm of torque at 1,600rpm • ELECTRIC ENGINE: Three-phase AC electric motor generating 23kW of power and 143Nm at 1,100rpm HINO HYBRID-KEY SPECIFICATIONS • Battery/Inverter – Type of battery: • Nickel hydroxide and solid metal hydride – Rated voltage: • 273 volts – Battery capacity: • 6.5Ah – Cooling system: • Liquid coolant ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE • Testing has seen the vehicle reduce CO2 emissions by 25 percent. • Lower emissions of particulate matter and NOx. • The vehicle easily meets Euro 4 emission requirements. OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE • The electric motor works primarily in city driving, while the diesel engine runs on highways (constant speed). • The Hino Hybrid is eight seconds quicker from 0-70km/h than a comparable diesel truck (3t payload). • A further fuel-saving features include regenerative braking, saving wear on the four-wheel disc brakes TEST RESULTS • MEASUREMENT METRICS – Fuel consumption against control group – Cost of electrical maintenance. – Cost of non-electrical maintenance. – Cost of brake maintenance. – Instances/impact of operational benefits. TEST RESULTS (6,870kms) • TRIAL - 3 MONTHS:COMPARISON - CONTROLLED GROUP – Fuel consumption currently 25% less per km than the controlled Group (13.50 l/100km). – No scheduled maintenance has been required. – One vehicle: Rectify a minor fault with the Hill Start Assist system.
