What Happened
April 15, 2011: H.R. 1473 cut $140.2 million from Perkins and
eliminated funding for Tech Prep
Writing campaigns, meetings with legislators, appeals from
constituents, etc. were unsuccessful to pass state funding in the
Texas Legislature
Tech Prep Consortia will cease to operate
as Tech Prep, August 31, 2011

Consortium will cease to exist on
August 31, 2011

“We do not yet know whether USDE will
require states to continue to report the
data, so we do not know whether to
continue to collect it”.
“OVAE has promised guidance soon, but
we don’t have it yet. Districts should
absolutely report their 2010-2011 Tech
Prep data on the PER (and anywhere
else)”.

from the U.S. Department of Education,
Office of Adult Vocational Education and/or
Texas Education Agency, we will contact you

couple of weeks”.
