Enjoy the full Microsoft ® Office Outlook Outlook Web Access (OWA). ® 2007 experience when you’re away from the office by enabling Outlook Anywhere (formerly called RPC over HTTP) on your computer. After you enable Outlook Anywhere, just connect to the Internet and use Outlook 2007 as you would in the office—no need to use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection or Topics in this guide: • Enable Outlook Anywhere • Enable Outlook Anywhere for Multiple Profiles • Disable Outlook Anywhere for an Outlook Profile
Enable Outlook Anywhere 1
Open Outlook 2007. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.

Click your Microsoft Exchange account, and then click Change.

In the Change E-mail Account dialog box, click More Settings.

In the Exchange Proxy Settings dialog box, in the Use this URL to
connect to my proxy server for Exchange
box, type
Note Contact your network administrator to obtain this URL.

In the Microsoft Exchange dialog box, on the Connection tab, select the
Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP
check box, and then click Exchange Proxy Settings.
Select both the Connect using SSL only check box and the Only
connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in
their certificate check box.

In the Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their certificate text box, type the URL from Step 5 with msstd: added to the beginning. Note Contact your network administrator for this URL.
Select the On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP check box.

Under Proxy authentication settings, in the Use this
authentication when connecting to my proxy server for
Exchange list, click NTLM Authentication. Click OK, and then click OK again. In the Change E-mail Account dialog box, click Next, and then click Finish.
Click Close, and then restart Outlook 2007.
Enable Outlook Anywhere for Multiple Profiles
When you enable Outlook Anywhere, changes are made only to the default profile. To enable Outlook Anywhere for multiple profiles, you must make each profile the default in turn, enable Outlook Anywhere for each new default, and then return to the original default.

In Control Panel, click User Accounts, and then click Mail.

In the Mail Setup-Outlook dialog box, click Show Profiles.

In the Mail dialog box, click Always use this profile.

Click a profile from the profile list, and then click OK.

Follow the procedure for enabling Outlook Anywhere found earlier in this guide.
Notes
• Follow these steps for each profile you want to enable. When you are done, use the steps to reset your default profile.
• To be prompted to choose a profile each time you open Outlook 2007, click Prompt for a profile to be used. (See step 3.)

Update Each Outlook Profile
When you enable Outlook Anywhere, changes are made only to the default profile. If you enable Outlook Anywhere on more than one Outlook profile, you must follow these directions to update each profile.

Open Outlook. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.

Click your Microsoft Exchange account, and then click Change.

In the Change E-mail Account dialog box, in the User Name box, type your name as it appears in the Global Address Book.

Click Check Name. If Outlook Anywhere has been configured correctly, you will be prompted for your credentials. Your Microsoft Exchange Server and User Name will resolve automatically.
Disable Outlook Anywhere for an Outlook Profile 1
Open Outlook 2007. On the Tools menu, click Account Settings.

Click your Microsoft Exchange account, and then click Change.

In the Change E-mail Account dialog box, click More Settings.

In the Microsoft Exchange dialog box, on the Connection tab, clear the Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP check box.

Click OK. In the Change E-mail Account dialog box, click Next, and then click Finish.

Click Close, and then restart Outlook 2007.
Note Follow these steps for each profile you want to disable.
