CUNY students would receive a discount on
bus or train transportation for the semester
MTA is guaranteed to get a center amount of
money from CUNY students every semester.
CUNY would be striking a deal that would
help benefit the students in the school
system and it would receive a percentage of
the funds.
Students‘ Benefits






The monthly cost of a metro card is $76 for a
monthly unlimited
For a semester that is $304
The monthly cost of a weekly metro card is $24
For a semester that is $384
The proposal is to get a 50% discount
This would allow CUNY students to spend $152 as
oppose to $304 a semester
Why a 50% Discount?


We came up with 50% because realistically
we realize that during the discussion
between MTA and the CUNY system the
numbers will most likely take a dive.
So to insure that we get the greatest deal
possible fifty percent is a number the will
insure a substantial benefit for students.
The Plan



Step 1 - To speak with the members of the under
graduate student government. For example
(president, and or senators).
Step 2 - Getting a poll from the general student body
at CCNY to find out just how many students here
would be interested in such a deal between MTA and
the CUNY system.
Step3 – With the poll from the student body and the
support of the student government we would draft a
proposal to give to the president of the college.
The Plan (cont.)


Step 4- with the help of the president we
would try to build alliances with
administration, so that there could be the
beginnings of talk between the CCNY and
MTA for starters and eventually the rest of
CUNY.
Step 5- this would hopefully lead to the talk of
a merging discount for CUNY students,
CUNY system working together with MTA.
