Grounding Activity: Sample School-Parent Compact Gallery Walk • During the next 7 minutes, travel around the room and observe the different school-parent compacts posted. Make note of any similarities and/or differences observed. • What are the biggest differences you noticed between the sample compacts posted throughout the room and compacts you have seen in the past?

Read your School-Parent Compact. Using the tool, “School-Parent Compact Guide to Quality: A Written Agreement to Work Together to Student Success,” assess the quality of your compact. Is the School-Parent Compact considered high quality? Explain why or why not.

Each One, Teach One Write down one area your School-Parent Compact you consider to be high quality. Write down one area your School-Parent Compact you consider can be improved. Find an eye partner from a different table and share with them your answers.

Amazing School has been asked to develop a Parent Involvement Policy for the 2013-2014 school year. Today, you will be asked to help create the Parent Involvement Policy.
1.
Individually, write down the ideas for that your school currently does to address the part of the policy assigned to your group.
Group A: Section I: Involvement of Parents in the Title I Program Group B: Section II: School-Parent Compact and Section IV: Accessibility Group C: Section III: Building Capacity 2.
As a group, chart the responses to the section assigned to your table.
