 Developing “Master Queries” to try to satisfy current
reporting needs for as many users as possible
 Improved Program/Plan query (nc_sr_plans_by_org),
with single row for all plans and better effective dating, is
first product of these efforts
 More powerful, complicated queries require additional
steps to run in the Reporting instance

 PS Query – delivered PeopleSoft reporting tool
– not an ideal tool for the everyday user
 Tar Heel Tracker
– curriculum and degree planning data
that has never previously been available
– already being utilized for curriculum related
reporting needs, such as Phi Beta Kappa
 OBIEE
– intuitive, powerful business intelligence platform
with interactive dashboards, charting options, ad
hoc reporting capabilities…basically our best
hope for returning a self-service reporting model
to this campus
