The
origin of the company’s name comes
from the winged goddess of victory according
to Greek mythology—Nike.
The notorious “swoosh” symbol represents
the spirit of the winged goddess of victory.
The swoosh was first used in 1971 and the
first shoe to show off this new design was the
soccer shoe named after its company name,
“Nike.”
