MISSION BAY PERMIT PARKING
1. Permit parking will be available to all staff, faculty, and
students based at Mission Bay.
2. Mission Bay permit rates will be consistent with Parnassus
campus rates.
3. Discounted Mission Bay afternoon, evening, and weekend
parking permits will be available for staff, faculty, and
students.
4. UCSF employees can pay for their permits by pretax payroll
deduction to reduce the out-of-pocket cost by up to 30%.
5. Mission Bay parking office is open weekdays from 8AM to
5PM in the Owens Street garage; a satellite office will be
open with limited hours in the MB hospital garage.

MISSION BAY PERMIT PARKING
Permit parking restrictions at the new Mission Bay MB hospital will be
instituted starting January 1, 2015.
Existing permit holders can park at the new hospital with their current permits
through January 2015. During the month of January 2015, employees
relocating to the new hospital can exchange their existing parking permits for
new Mission Bay permits. Permit exchange will be available at any one of three
locations:

Parnassus Parking Office: Millberry Union, Level P7, Room 26; open
weekdays from 7:30AM to 4:45PM
Mission Bay Campus Parking Office: 1625 Owens Street Garage, first-floor
cashier; open weekdays 8:00AM to 5:00PM
Mission Bay Hospital Parking Office: Office hours TBD
New permit holders can purchase a permit at any one of the above locations
during normal office hours.

MISSION BAY PUBLIC PARKING
1. Public parking will be available for all patients and visitors.
2. MB public parking rates will be consistent with Parnassus campus rates.
3. Departments will have the option to purchase parking validation stickers
for patients.
4. Existing pediatric parking program at Parnassus will be available at MB.
5. Patient valet parking will be available at the north hospital entrance on
4th Street on weekdays at no additional cost to patients.
6. Self-serve credit card fee machines will be available for patients to pay
before exiting.
7. Parking attendants (cashiers) will also be available at exit booths to
assist patients and visitors.
8. Discounted parking available to patients with valid DMV handicapped
placards.

MISSION BAY HOSPITAL SHUTTLE SERVICE
1. The GREY, BLUE, and GOLD routes, which serve Mission Bay, Mt. Zion,
SFGH, and Parnassus from 6AM to about 9PM, will stop at the hospital
site, with service at least every 20 minutes (more frequently during
peak periods).
2. Service on these core campus routes will be increased 25% to
accommodate additional inter-campus travel demands, as needed.
3. The GREEN route (6:30AM to 8PM serving China Basin, Caltrain, and
Minnesota) and RED route (6:30AM to 8PM serving MCB, and 16th
Street BART) will be available via the 4th Street stop.
4. The MB Local shuttle will serve the hospital site weekdays from 5PM to
1AM – travels anywhere you want to go within about ½ mile of campus.
5. A MB intra-campus shuttle will connect points within the Mission Bay
campus (hospital and campus); this will be a low-rise shuttle specially
designed to accommodate wheelchair passengers.

BART STATIONS (weekdays)
1) RED Shuttle to 16th Street BART from 6:30AM to 8PM about every 15-20
minutes; stops on 4th Street.
2) Mission Bay MTA (missionbaytma.org) to Powell Street BART service
about every 15-20 minutes from 7:15AM to 10AM & 3:30PM to 8PM.
3) SF Muni T line serves Embarcadero BART from 5:15AM to midnight
about every 9 minutes during peak periods.
Caltrain - 4th and King Street (weekdays)
1) GREEN Shuttle from 6:30AM to 8:00PM every 15-20 minutes; stops on
4th Street.
2) Mission Bay MTA (missionbaytma.org) about every 15-20 minutes from
7:10AM to 9:50AM & 3:45PM to 7:50PM; stops on Owens Street.
3) SF Muni T line from 5:15AM to midnight about every 9 minutes during
peak periods (approx. 5 min travel time); stops on 3rd Street.

Embarcadero Ferry Building (weekdays)
Muni T line to Folsom and Embarcadero; 5:15AM to midnight about every 9
minutes during peak periods (approx. 13 min travel time); about 5 minute
walk to Ferry Building.
Transbay Terminal (weekdays)
Muni T line to Folsom and Embarcadero; 5:15AM to midnight about every 9
minutes during peak periods (approx. 13 min travel time); about 6 minute
walk to Ferry Building.

Car Sharing
Four City CarShare vehicles are located at MB, including 3 in the 3rd Street
garage and 1 in the 4th Street surface lot; will work with City CarShare to
add vehicle(s) in Mission Bay hospital garage
Bike Sharing
The UCSF Mission Bay Campus is currently included in the City’s second
phase pilot bike share program; we hope to have a bike share pod available
as early as Spring 2014. The ultimate decision depends on the results of
the current pilot phase targeting downtown.
Onsite Transit Pass Sales
Clipper Card sales available in the Owens Street garage, 1625 Owens,
weekdays from 8AM to 5PM.

Marin Commute Club
One bus serves the North Bay along 101 as far as Novato. Bus arrives at MB
weekdays at 8AM and departs 4:40PM. Monthly and daily fares available.
Vanpools
The UCSF Vanpool Program currently offers vans from the following
locations to Mission Bay; Elk Grove, Sacramento, Novato, Vallejo, San
Rafael, Vacaville, Santa Rosa, Walnut Creek, Fairfield, Concord, and Pacifica.
Additional vans can form with 8 fulltime riders and a driver.
UCSF is working with other healthcare organizations in San Francisco to
form a vanpool network in an effort to offer a wider array of vanpooling
options to healthcare workers.

UCSF Online Carpool Matching (zimride.com/ucsf)
UCSF offers a carpool matching program to find colleagues interested in
sharing a ride to work or school. 600+ UCSF staff and students are currently
seeking to share a rides.
Pretax Transit Savings Program
Pay for your public transit costs on a pretax basis and save up to 30%.
Bicycle Shower Program
We have created a “Bike Access Pass” shower program in partnership with
the UCSF Fitness Center. Available at the Bakar Fitness Center at Mission
Bay, access is limited to a maximum of 30-minutes per day, during the
following hours: Monday through Friday, 5:30 am-12:00 pm Saturday and
Sunday, 7:30 am-8:00 pm.
