BIRTH
Victoria was born at Kensington Palace, London , on 24th May
1819. She was the only daughter of Edward, Duke of Kent.
VICTORIAS CHILDHOOD
As a girl Queen Victoria was always anxious to 'be good' - despite
being passionate and strong-minded. Her liveliness and strength of
character shine out from the story of her secluded childhood, as told

YOUNG ADULT LIFE
Queen Victoria, who served as queen of Great Britain from 1837
until her death in 1901, and as empress of India from 1876, was born
Alexandrina Victoria on May 24, 1819, in London, England. Victoria
was the only child of George III's fourth son, Edward, and Victoria
Maria Louisa of Saxe-Coburg, sister of Leopold, king of the Belgians.
•Queen Victoria was the longest reigning British monarch in
history. She was Queen from June, 1837 until her death in January,
1901.
Queen Victoria first met her German cousin, Prince
Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in 1836, and Queen
Victoria and Prince Albert became engaged during his
second visit to England in 1839. Their wedding
ceremony took place on 10 February 1840 at the Chapel
Royal, St James’s Palace, and their wedding breakfast was
held at Buckingham Palace. This was the first wedding of
a reigning Queen in England since 1554.

Helena, Louise, Arthur, Leopold, and Beatrice
