Admission to Program - GATE I
Exam Requirements

Requirement for candidates entering teacher
preparation programs in Wisconsin

Based on high school knowledge

State sets requirements and passing scores
Scores Meeting the Basic Skills
Requirement
ACT Passing Scores
 Composite score of 23 or higher; minimum of 20 on



Mathematics
English
Reading
SAT Passing Scores
 Composite 1070

Minimum of 450 on each (verbal and mathematics)
All scores must come from one sitting. Exams must be completed within the past 5 years
OR
PRAXIS - CORE Academic Skills for Educators passing scores




When should I take the exam?

Complete MATH 10 or 20 if required

Complete WRIT course if need added writing skill

During freshman year

Transfer students - 1st semester of enrollment

