Former Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) Structure
Followed ISO 10160/10161 standards for ILLOs
between systems
Protocols balanced the number of items borrowed vs.
the number loaned for partner libraries
ILLOs were filled in sequence - geographically
Supported by Provincial Library using Resource
Sharing System software
New Interlibrary Loan (ILLO) Structure
In-province public library ILLOs are treated as HOLDS
ILLOs are filled in using a geographic order
Van delivery allows loaning of A/V materials that are not
covered by the Library Book Rate
Balance the number of items borrowed vs. the number
loaned for partner libraries
Large urban libraries have not seen large imbalances in
interlibrary loans.
