Bo Lu
Bo Lu, entered industry in 2007 with BP, currently working
as a Senior Reservoir Engineer at Noble Energy Inc. MS in
Petroleum Geology from China University of Petroleum and
PhD in Petroleum Engineering from UT Austin. Actively
involved in company recruiting and volunteering in
professional organizations, had organized several job
hunting and career development forums for students and
young professionals.

Zhipeng Liu
Zhipeng (Z) Liu is a Sr. Petrophysicist in Kinder Morgan, with specialty in CO2 gas
fields and CO2 flood EOR fields. He is also the treasurer of SPWLA Houston
Chapter. He has 14 years practicing Geoscience and Petroleum Engineering in oil
and gas business. He is a license Petroleum Engineer in Texas. Previously he has
worked for PathFinder Energy Services, BP, and Schlumberger. He has published
10+ technical papers and been granted 3 US patents on petrophysics and well
logging. He earned his first M.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the
University of Texas at Austin, a second M.S. degree in Petroleum Geology from
University of Houston, and previously a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He has been a member
of SPWLA, SPE, WTGS, AAPG. He brings jelly beans to his office and plays golf
and soccer in his spare time.

Yilun Mao
Graduated from University of Houston with Masters of Electrical Engineering in fall 2012, Yilun
Mao began his career as an entry level Electrical Engineer in American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
located in north Houston.
After spending 3 years in UH graduate school, Yilun started looking for a job since long before his
graduation. Landing this job is anything but easy. Yilun has been through dozens of interviews
before the last one, giving him a lot of experience as how to fail. His focus on Electrical Power
System granted him limited opportunities into oil & gas industry compared to the traditional
power industry. Luckily, ABS has one opening in Electrical Engineer that is a good fit for someone
whose background is in power system and Yilun was lucky enough to fulfill that position. The
department that hired him is Offshore Engineering Department and their responsibility includes
reviewing the drawings and designs of the offshore platforms. What Yilun has learned through
this process is that, referral, sometimes, can be decisive.

Xin Guo
Xin Guo, working as a control system engineer at Bechtel OG&C from
2012 and certified as Functional Safety Specialist by the International
Society of Automation. Founded a consulting company providing
functional safety and other technical support. Master of Science
degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Houston and
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang
University. Chair of Zhejiang University Alumni Association in
Houston and Chair of Asian-Pacific Subcommittee of Diversity
Advisory Council (DAC) of Bechtel in 2014.
