Boron Soda
Aim:
- reducing environmental effects
of SO2 and CO2 (as a
greenhouse gas),
- achieving absorption of SO2
and CO2 in boron solutions
- producing a mixture product with boron compounds and
the Soda which is raw material input especially in glass
industry.
- Na-borate compounds containing soda is produced.

BORON IN IRON AND STEEL
INDUSTRY A Cost Effective Solution
During steel production, Iron scrap is melted down in an electric arc furnace and then molten
steel is poured into a ladle. After skimming the slag, it crumbles easily after a few days and
becomes fine material like powder which is hydrophobic in nature and cause environmental
problems.
For solving this problem we have cooperated with the companies and industrial scale testworks
have been carried out in the iron and steel plant in Turkey.Our new boron product, was added to
the molten slag in the ladle and found that the bulk density of the slag increased from 1,36
ton/m3 in the powder state to 2,64 ton/m3 in the compact state.
As a result of this study handling cost and environmental significantly impact is reduced.
