South Carolina Association of Nepalese
(SCAN) was founded in 2002 resulting
from considerable growth in Nepali
community in SC and the subsequent
need to maintain fellowship and
represent their causes in the US.
Incepted in Columbia.
Purposes
• Promote welfare of all Nepalese living in
South Carolina and Nepal
• Promote and deepen the relationship
between its members and the Nepalese in
Nepal
• Promote relation with other Nepalese
organizations in the USA and all over the
world.

Two Major Universities Clemson (Tigers) and
University of SC (Gamecocks)
About 20- 40 students in each university.
Celebration (Events)
The association organizes at least two group
events every year - one in April to celebrate
Nepali New Year, and another in October to
celebrate Dashain and Tihar.
