Overview • • Planet Press is third-party software – This software is owned by ObjectifLune DDMS is first call support and provides your primary customer-facing documents: – Invoices – Purchase orders – Pick tickets – Statements

Configuration/Watch Process • • DDMS sends a default configuration file.

Benefits • • • • With Planet Press, you can: Save paper by archiving your daily procedures. Save paper and time by emailing reports rather than printing and distributing them. Customize messages on emails to customers based on that customer’s assigned salesperson.

Getting Organized • • • First decide: – What formats are you currently using?

– What new formats do you need?

– What documents need to be archived?

– What documents need to be emailed?

Then determine: – The formats you need and want.

– The special processes you are looking for.

Sample Data • Planet Press takes sample data which is raw text in a format and places an overlay on top before printing. This overlay can contain boxes, lines, shapes, etc. It also allows you to place your logo on your formats.

Understanding Printers • • Each physical DDMS printer must – Be installed on the Planet Press machine by IP address Each virtual Planet Press printer must be added to the DDMS server as a file printer – This printer waits and watches for printing commands.

– If hosted the VPN tunnel is used. – If not hosted your network is used.

Understanding Printers 1. Install physical printer on Planet Press machine 2. Create first virtual input file printer on Planet Press machine, share and set as generic/text only.

**Virtual printers are added to the Planet Press machine and are setup for the WinQueue Input. They receive the print command from the DDMS machine, then search for the format and real printer in the work flow.

Understanding Printers 3. Create second printer on DDMS server as a local port - pointing to the virtual printer you just shared in Step 2 – Example: \\planet-press name • machine name\share This sends the job from DDMS over to the virtual printer. Acts as a pass through.

Understanding Printers • • 5. In Planet Press configuration: Copy an existing printing process or workflow. Change the input printer at the top (WinQueue) to the printer from Step 2 (virtual input file printer).

6. Change the output printer to the physical printer to which to print.

7. Save and send to work flow.

Form Basics • • • • • So much more information can be given when using Planet Press including: Contact information (phone and fax numbers, email addresses, Web URL, etc.) Terms How and when your customer can pay you (credit card images) Appreciation for their order Where they can provide feedback to you.

Conditions • Conditions can limit the custom formats that you need. For example, you can: – Change logos/addresses based on location.

– Change messages based on Prepaid vs. Charge.

– Change messages based on Account Number / Status for Terms.

– Change messages based on past due status.

– Change messages to drivers based on routes.
