About Global Brigades
Global Brigades is the world’s largest
student-led global health and
sustainable development
organization. Founded in 2004, Global
Brigades works to improve the quality
of life in under resourced
communities by leveraging the skill,
knowledge, and passion of students
and professionals.
Mission
To empower volunteers to facilitate
sustainable solutions in under
resourced communities while
fostering local cultures.
Environmental Brigades
A one week Environmental Brigade
provides volunteers an
opportunity to work alongside
community members to promote and
implement environmentally
sustainable development solutions.
Volunteers work in a variety of
landscapes each presenting different
challenges for the survival of native
species and future generations.
Volunteers have the opportunity to
work with community members to
help build tree nurseries, consult on
farm diversification, and help
develop alternative methods for
trash. Brigades also build on each
other, continuing projects through
successive phases, year after year.
Between brigades our in-country
team maintains relationships with our
community partners to secure
environmental outcomes and provide
follow-up disposal and management.

venue, equipment rental, and food
