Chancellor Birgeneau requests the launch of the Chancellor’s Task Force on
Undocumented Members of the On-campus Community (now called the “Standing
Committee”). Recommendations Report published in May 2011.

Fall 2011
AB 540 Coalition of campus and community members launched. Coordinated by
Multicultural Immigrant Student Program (MISP) Interns.
Fall 2011
Undocumented Student Program (USP) launched. Now the program has 3 fulltime staff.
USP serves as a central hub/portal for students and campus/community/national partners.

Robert D. Haas Dreamer Resource Center opened as a safe space and resource on campus.

Berkeley Legal Services Program launched to offer free support for students. 103 served in
