Purpose
The purpose of the CESA 6 Media Center is to
be a preview center and lending library that
makes the most innovative materials
available to our schools. The CMC maintains
a collection of instructional materials, which
can be checked out by teachers in CESA 6
districts that contract for the services, and
faculty, staff and students from the UWOshkosh campus.
Organization
•The CESA 6 Media Center (CMC) has a
collection of over 13,000 instructional materials.
•It was created in 1969 as the Special Education
Instructional Materials Center (SEIMC) and in
the late 1990’s merged with the CESA 6 regular
education materials center (RMC).
•There has been a long – standing partnership
with the UW-Oshkosh College of Education,
through the Department of Special Education.

more about the CMC.
It covers general information, ordering from
the CMC, policies, types of materials,
specialized collections in the CMC, CMC
policies, forms to be downloaded, a slide show,
highlighted materials, and a searchable
catalog.
Online Catalog
Within
the Media Center web page, click on
Searchable Catalog.
You can search by Keyword, Item Number,
Area and Location, or Grade Level.
This online catalog is updated quarterly.
Print Catalog
•If you wish to be able to print off any part of
the CMC catalog, go to Downloads and choose
any Catalog Section.
•This will open up a pdf file that you can either
save to your computer or print.

The
collection is divided into two categories:
Reservation and Circulation.
Software & video tapes may be reserved in
advance to be used when desired. The software
and videos are checked out for a strict amount
of time.
The rest of the materials, which makes up the
Circulation category, are checked out on an as
– needed basis. The length of checkout time
varies with the type of material.

• Materials are delivered to and
picked up from school districts
via the CESA 6 Delivery.
• Borrowers may also pick up
from and return items directly
to the CESA 6 Media Center.

software unless permission is granted.
• Some print material is reproducible for teacher use.
Check each material for permission.
• Software must be removed from computers prior to
returning them to the CMC.
