PE and swimming
• Students will then have one swimming lesson
Monday, and one PE lesson Friday
• W/c 08.09.14 6A and 6B will begin swimming
lessons on Monday (until the end of January)
• When swimming lessons finish in January, we
will have two PE lessons per week (Thursday
and Friday)
Equipment/ clothing needed
For PE
• Separate t shirt and shorts (not the same
clothes as worn in class)
• PE trainers
• Water bottle
• Earrings out, or covered with plasters
Equipment/ clothing needed
For swimming
• Swimming costume or trunks
• Towel
• Goggles if necessary
• A swimming cap is recommended for longer
hair (a hair tie is useful too)
• A plastic/ waterproof bag to put wet things in

• Please encourage students to wear their
house shirts on Monday’s and Friday’s (or
every day if they wish!)
Homework
• Friday- students will receive written
homework for maths and English
• This should be returned to school the
following Wednesday
• Students will also receive a spelling list to
practice, and usually a spelling activity to
reinforce the learning (see spelling city)
• These words will be tested the following

Homework
• Students may sometimes be given talking
homework or a research task linked work in
class
• Talking homework is to encourage discussion
between students and parents, and can be
done in the home language
• Please contact the class teacher if you would
like to discuss homework amount or timings
Homework - between
• Pupils should be reading English texts every day,
and should change books regularly
• Use their mathletics login to access tasks set for
them by the teachers and to practice mental
recall skills
• Access Reading eggs to practice phonics, spelling,
grammar and reading comprehension
• Spelling games and practice can be found on
spelling city

communication – if your child is going to be
late, has an appointment, is going home with
someone else etc
• If your child is sick or absent for any reason,
please email the class teacher or Ms Zdenka

• Absences and lates are recorded on reports
Other information
• Permissions – if you want your child to wait
alone, play unsupervised, go home alone etc
• Please send us written permission in the
homework diaries and we will complete a red
sticker
