ACTION 1
Conservation, extension and
amelioration of the habitats of
wild tigers
Follow the plan, conducting research on
habitat extension, prey rehabilitation,
eco-corridors connection and habitat
environment change;
Set up wild genetic exchange for small
wild tiger group to the large population;
Restoring natural habitat for the pilot
experiment on the captive south-China
tiger releasing in the wild.
ACTION 2
Capacity building in
conservation and monitoring
agencies for wild tiger
population and habitat
Strengthen conservation and monitoring of
tigers’ population and habitat;
Enhance staff ability of conservation,
monitoring, anti-poaching, and set up
perfect relations with local community.
ACTION 3
Harmonious social and
economic development with
wild tiger protection in local
communities
Setting up compensation funds for the
losses and damages of people and their
animals by tigers;
Warning sign and pamphlets to guide local
people safety in tiger range area;
Strong fence and isolation ditches will
separate the local people from tigers;
Building up the community development
found for local livelihood better change.
ACTION 4
Intensify law enforcement over
smuggling and illegal trade of
tiger products
Staff training of law enforcement,
equipment and detective devices, will be
conducted;
Annually to crack down poaching and
illegal trade of tiger products.
ACTION 5
Extend international
cooperation and exchange
Seminars, study tours, professional
training on tiger conservation experience
and law enforcement;
Establishing exchange channel between
local protection units on border;
Establishing rapid and effective
information exchange between TRC

CURRENT POLICY
 Tiger is under legislative protection in
China;
 Chinese law clearly stipulates the
protection and rescuing of tigers, and
severely punishes the law breaker;
 Established a network of nature reserves
and protection stations in tiger range
areas;
 Implemented some big national
programs for saving wild tiger population
and their habitats,
 Crack down on criminals of snares,
poaching, illegal trade tiger product,
CURRENT POLICY
 Established a law enforcement system and
workforce at various levels involving tiger
products smuggling and illegal trade control,
Special fund set up to compensate the
losses of damages from local people and
their castles by the wild tiger.
NEXT STEPS
 Further improving conservation plan for
wild tigers and their habitat;
 To further perfect ways of conservation
management on wild tigers and their
habitat;
 Further enhancing law enforcement
capacity on market patrolling system,
public reporting reward system,
departmental coordination and joint
action system etc.
