Go to www.turnitin.com and click on the Create New Account link in the upper
right corner.
Under “Create a New Account,” click on “student.”
Enter the class ID number (4073141) and the enrollment password (newstudent). Then fill in
the rest of the boxes with your own information.
NOTE: Use your real email address! You will use this account often, and if you lose your
password, you can only retrieve it at that email address. Make sure you’ll be able to access it.
Click the “I agree—create profile” button at the bottom.
Click on the title of your new class, “New BHS Student Orientation.”
Assignments
You are now looking at your portfolio for this class. This class has two assignments
in it, and you can see that no work has been submitted for either one.
Practice submitting essays:
• Click on the submit icon next to Submission practice: summer reading packet
assignment.
• Enter submission title (This
can be as simple as “summer
reading”).
• Click Browse and find your
paper on your computer.
• Click the “upload” button.
For practice, do this now with a
sample document from your
computer.
This page shows you a preview of
the paper you’re turning in.
Always double-check to make
sure you’re not accidentally
turning in the wrong paper.
Once you’ve assured it’s the
correct document, click on
“submit” at the bottom.
WARNING! Your paper will NOT
be submitted until you click
SUBMIT on this page!
The banner at the top shows that you have successfully submitted
your paper. Click on the “go to portfolio” link in the middle of the
page to return to the class page.
Check here to make sure your paper appears. Notice that this page now shows a green
dot with the message “Submission for this assignment is complete.” This confirms that
turnitin.com has received your submission.
Remember, it is your responsibility to make sure your papers are
correctly submitted to Turnitin.com!
