What do I need to Graduate?
4 Credits of English *ELA Regents Exam 65+ (55+ for Local Diploma) 4 Credits in Social Studies *Global History and US History Regents Exams 65+ (score options for Local Diploma) There are new Pathway options for students that have difficulty meeting one of the Social Studies Regents Exam requirements. Counselors will work with individuals who may need a Pathway option to graduate.
3 Credits in Science (1 must be Physical and 1 Life) *1 Regents Exam 65+ for Regents (score options for Local Diploma) *2 Regents Exam 65+ (1 Physical & 1 Life ) for Adv. 1 Credit in World Language for Regents or Local diploma 3 Credits in one World Language and pass the Checkpoint B Exam for Advanced Regents diploma (Students may substitute a 5-unit sequence in Art OR Music for this requirement, but still must earn 1 credit of a World Language) 1 Credit in Art or Music, or a combination of both 1/2 Credit Health 1/2 Credit Computer Applications 2 Credits of PE (must take PE each semester) 1-3 Credits of elective coursework

Transcripts and Credits
• Beginning at the Junior High School, all credit-bearing course work is recorded on the student’s permanent transcript and becomes a part of the student’s cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA). • Students must earn a minimum of 5 credits to move from the Junior High to the Senior High School.
AP Courses
AP stands for Advanced Placement AP courses are college level courses taught in high school, followed by an exam in May Exams are scored 1 through 5 Exam cost this year is $91 Students taking multiple tests pay a maximum of $182 (2 tests) for 2014 - 2015 school year What is expected of AP students?
What are the benefits of taking AP courses?
DUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES
Dual credit courses allow students to take courses at New Hartford while offering them the opportunity to also earn college credits. We currently offer dual credit through 3 colleges - MVCC, SUNY Albany, and RIT.
Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) Next school year we will have at least 7 courses that have dual credit through MVCC. There is no charge from MVCC to earn the credits.

PLTW Principles of Engineering (POE) SUNY Albany Qualifying students taking Latin 4 can earn credit through SUNY Albany. Students must complete a SUNY registration form and pay SUNY at the beginning of the course.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION and HEALTH
• 1/2 credit of Health (taken during 9-12 grade) is required to graduate • 2 credits of Physical Education, taken over four years of high school, is required to graduate • P.E. must be taken during each year of high school • If you are not able to participate in P.E. due to a medical condition, you must report to P.E. and complete a class packet(s)

Career & Technical Education at BOCES
Students can participate in CTE courses at BOCES starting in Grade 11. Some programs are 1-year while others are 2-year programs. All the CTE courses are 1/2 day at New Hartford (AM or PM) and 1/2 day at BOCES (AM or PM). What a High School Schedule Might Look Like
There are 4-blocks per day that are 80-minutes long. Everyone has lunch at 10:40am. Credit is issued at the end of each semester. Students taking courses that meet all year will still get a final grade and credit awarded at the end of each semester.
