COMPANY HISTORY
 1969 - First. plastic cards (Diners Club, American Express) appeared in the
Intourist network of hotels and stores.
 1992 – Former Intourist specialists establish United Card Service (UCS).
 1992 - 2000. The market of card issuance and servicing is actively developing,
taking in all consumer sectors and above all retail trade, hotel and restaurant
business.
 2000. UCS passed VISA International и MasterCard International certification and
begins to service bank card issuing programs.

 The total UCS acquiring turnover in 2007 exceeded US$ 3.5 billion.
 In 2007 UCS processed about 25 million transactions in retail trade.

installed.

UCS TRAINING CENTRE
One of the imperative stages of merchant acquiring system application is training of the
personnel of the Merchants serviced by the Company in a specially established UCS
Training Centre.
 UCS provides training of personnel of client companies and above all of sales
personnel and cashiers who work with plastic cards.
 The training is dedicated to issues of servicing payments made with the use of
cards of various payment systems, and to security of card payments.
 According to the VISA International and MasterCard Worldwide representatives’
evaluation, today our training program is the best in the Russian market.

Nowadays loyalty programs are increasingly in great demand in the consumer market.
UCS is ready to offer its existing and potential customers effective solutions for the

A «Gift Card» for a jubilee, wedding, New Year and other events is a product in great

 From the moment the project started over a million prepaid products have been
issued for UCS customers.
 In 2007 the Gift Card payments turnover exceeded 750 million Roubles.

BANK CARD ISSUANCE
United Card Service holds all the necessary certificates for the issuance of VISA cards
(official status - TPP) and MasterCard cards (official status - MSP)
on the basis of its own personalization centre. We offer a full range of personalization
services:
 magnetic stripe cards;
 chip cards (EMV);
 cards with black and white and colour photograph;
 affinity, club and discount cards.
The procedures of card personalization, PIN generation and PIN-mailing fully comply with
the strict requirements of the international payment systems.

ATM AND POS-TERMINAL NETWORKING
Models of all most frequently used ATMs, including Diebold, Wincor Nixdorf, NCR, can
be connected to the UCS Processing Centre.
ATMs and POS-terminals can perform the following operations:




cash disbursement in various currencies;
balance on the bank card account;
mini-statement on the recent card operations;
acceptance of mobile payments.
Moreover ATMs can be used for Cash-In operations and money transfers from one card
account to another.

MOBILE PAYMENTS
The system of acceptance of payments to providers of various services, such as
mobile operators, Internet and TV-providers, has been realized and successfully
operates on the basis of ATMs and POS-terminals..
 Payments can be made both with the use of a card and by cash.
 When a payment is made with a card the ATM can also charge the payer
additional commissions in favour of the bank.

Partner banks are provided a possibility to get connected directly to the UCS
Processing Centre’s database in order to:
 obtain on-line information on transactions made,
 manage the bank’s card databases and devices.

processing centre at minimal financial costs..

REMOTE ACCESS TO PROCESSING
The on-line remote access system would enable the bank to :

manage card floor limits;
set limitations on certain operations;
block and unblock cards;
manage the bank’s ATMs’ operations;
monitor issuing risks;
“swap” the tying in of cards, which allows for their immediate replacement (this is

OTHER SERVICES FOR BANKS
«Mobile bank» (SMS-service)
An SMS message is sent to the cardholder’s mobile phone each time a transaction is
made, which contains brief information on the amount of transaction and the balance.
24-hour Customer Support Service
A customer can telephone the service, give the code word and :
 get information on the balance of the card account;
 get information on current transactions and authorizations related to the card;
 block the card in the Company’s data base.

Consultations on dispute resolutions and claims
UCS is highly experienced in matters related to disputes of facts of transactions made
with cards of international payment systems and is ready to give the relevant
consultations to its customers.
Issuing Risks Fraud Monitoring System
A UCS’s client bank can perform an on-line monitoring of operations made with the
cards issued both in the bank’s acquiring network and in the global VISA International
and MasterCard Worldwide networks.
