Event Lead
• Oversee all student associates at this event and will report directly to the
event manager. Assist with logistics, set-up, break-down, overall guest
experience, food service, overall flow of event.

Parking Information
Parking is available at all City of Miami Beach Parking Garages and street meters
Receipts due on or before February 27, 2015 at 5:00 PM
There will be NO exceptions.
You MUST submit parking receipts for reimbursement –
we are not responsible for your lost receipts.
You will be reimbursed a MAXIMUM of $15.00 per day for parking - we do not reimburse for
Valet, Taxis or Parking in Excess of $15.00 per day.
When you arrive for your shift
Consider arriving at least 15 minutes before your shift. Traffic and parking will be
rough so allow extra time.

• Culinary: Culinary/Chef Uniform
• Event/On-Site Positions: Black Button Down & Black Pants
• Lead: Business Casual
• Comfortable, black, closed toe shoes
• Photography: Festival T-Shirt & Jeans
Culinary - Prep
• Students with basic to advanced culinary skills to help in the kitchen and onsite alongside the event chefs.
• There will be different types of culinary positions. Be prepared to do whatever
it takes inside and outside of the kitchen to make it happen.
• Mostly preparation tasks and duties.
• For exact shift times and attire, please review your student portal. This is
crucial!
Culinary
• Students with basic to advanced culinary skills to help in the kitchen and onsite alongside the event chefs.
• There will be different types of culinary positions. Be prepared to do whatever
it takes inside and outside of the kitchen to make it happen.

Guest Service (Registration)
• Students will learn about the venue (i.e. where bathrooms and bars are) and direct
guests throughout the evening to their desired destination. Students may be asked
to answer questions about the Festival. Should have strong command of the English
language. Students will assist the credential management staff for the distribution of
credentials to sponsors, exhibitors, suppliers and festival guests.
• Welcoming guests to the venue, guiding them into the appropriate lines, BIG smiles.
Students will be exchanging tickets for wristbands.
• Must be fluent in English & Spanish, have knowledge of the event and good
customer service skills.

Photography
• This position will be a made available through the School of Journalism &
Mass Communication at the Biscayne Bay Campus.
• In charge of capturing iconic moments throughout the duration of event.
• Will have all access throughout event in order to obtain optimum images and
moments.

No Storage
• There will be no storage for purses, bags, etc. - All you need is your Panther
ID
• Not all events have credentials, but if your event does, be sure to wear your
credentials (might be a lanyard or wristband) at all times.
Please don’t…
• You will not receive a scholarship if you are caught acting unprofessionally at
ANY time!
• NO drinking
• NO fighting
• NO passing credentials
• NO making lines as guests
• NO use of cell phone in front of guests
Meals
Lunches and/or snacks will be provided to you. However, we recommend eating
before you arrive and packing a small snack and a few dollars in case you’d like
to eat something different than what is provided.

• When in doubt ASK - we are here to help you get the most out of your
experience.

Scholarship Information
• By participating in the Festival, you are eligible to receive scholarship.
• Scholarship amounts were created by FIU and will vary based on the event and the
rigorousness or skill required for your position.
• Once your essay is received and we receive word on good standing of your participation,
your name will be submitted to the Financial Aid office for processing.
• Financial Aid will work hard to process your scholarship before next semester.
No Essay = No Scholarship
• In order to be eligible for a scholarship students MUST submit their essay before Monday,
March 2, 2015 at 5:00 PM - there will be NO EXCEPTIONS.
