School-Based Awards
Don’t fall for these SCHOLARSHIP SCAMS 1. Cash up front – You should NOT have to pay money to get money. There should not be a processing fee or application fee.
2. Free Seminar – Stay away from free sessions that promise to give you scholarship information. This is a ploy to get you in their door then pay for their services.
3. Rewards without entries - Pop up ads, unsolicited communications – DO NOT REPLY OR CLICK ON THE POP-UP.
4. Time-Sensitive Awards – “Act Now” “Limited Quantity” – anything that sounds urgent often is not. Scholarships have deadlines, but they are normally well in advance.
5. Guarantees – There are no guarantees for legitimate scholarships
