 The First Orphan…Lucifer
“You said in your heart,
‘I will ascend to the heavens;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.’” (Isa 14:13,14)
“Your heart became proud on account of your beauty and
you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I
threw you to the earth: I made a spectacle of you before
kings” “ (Eze 28:17)
 God is the Father of all creation
 The Father had a plan for his family
 He prepared the garden of Eden (a perfect place to raise a
family)
 He created Adam (son of God) and Eve in His image
(special care…face to face encounter). The first voice, the
first touch, the first emotion that Adam experienced was
that of a loving father. Same thing for Eve.
 He blessed them to be happy with all good things
 Kicked out of the house
 No share in the Father’s house, Outside of God’s love
 Jealousy drove him to steal, kill and destroy God’s
children
 Came to the Garden of Eden
 Tempted Adam and Eve to be like God, using lies and
deception, half-truth
 Release the orphan spirit to the whole world
 Orphan thinking, believed the devil’s lies
 Doubted God’s love and Disobeyed the Father
 Shame, Guilt and Fear
 Covering up with fig leaves
 Hid from the Presence of God
 Broken relationship with God, with each other
 Blamed on others
 Lost their home
 Cain
 Isaac and Ishmael
 Jacob and Esau
 Joseph and His Brothers
 King Saul
 Jonah
 Pharisees and the Teachers of the law
 Judas Iscariot
 Saul of Tarsus
It is for us to experience His expressed love and to give
it away to the next person we meet.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all
your soul and with all your mind…Love your neighbor
as yourself”

 The foundation of intimacy with God..realization that we are His
happy thought.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn
you with loving kindness” (Jer 31:3)
“The LORD your God is with you, he mighty to save. He will take great
delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over
you with singing.” (Zeph 3:17)
“For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and
have believed that I came from (Jn 16:27)

Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. 12 The
younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of
the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. 13 “Not
long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set
off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in
wild living. 14 After he had spent everything, there was a
severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in
need. 15 So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that
country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. 16 He longed
to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating,
but no one gave him anything. (Lk 15:11-16)
When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How
many of my father’s hired servants have
food to spare, and here I am starving to
death! 18 I will set out and go back to my
father and say to him: Father, I have sinned
against heaven and against you. 19 I am no
longer worthy to be called your son; make
me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he
got up and went to his father. (Lk 15:17-20)
 He did not wait to go through the process of sonship
 He wished for the death of his own father
 He fled the presence of the Father
 His orphan spirit led him away from home
 He let “self” be the king over his life
 The pig-pen became his new home
 His self-will drove him to the pits of despair
 A revelation came to him (He came to his senses)
 He was hungry for the presence and love of his father
 He decided to come home
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him
and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his
son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. 21
“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against
heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be
called your son.’ 22 “But the father said to his servants,
‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring
on his finger and sandals on his feet. 23 Bring the
fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate.
24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he
was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
(Lk 15:20-24)
 Prodigal… “one who spends or gives lavishly,; recklessly




extravagant” (Webster’s Dictionary)
The Father understood what his son was thinking
The Father restored the sonship of his younger son,
the whole person (the kiss to his face, the best robe,
the signet ring, the sandals on the feet), The holistic
restoration.
The Robe of righteousness and glory, the Ring of
authority
The Father celebrated
“Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he
came near the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 So he called one of the servants and asked him
what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he
replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf
because he has him back safe and sound.’ 28 “The
older brother became angry and refused to go in. So
his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he
answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been
slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet
you never gave me even a young goat so I could
celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of
yours who has squandered your property with
prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf
for him!’ (24-28)

everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate
and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and
is alive again; he was lost and is found.’” (Lk 16:31,32)
 The Father’s love is unconditional
 The Father’s love is a gift, free and underserved
 We have the full access to everything that belongs to
the Father
 The Father wants all his children to join the party
 How do I know if I have the heart of an orphan or the
heart of son?

We begin to live life like a spiritual orphan
We begin chasing after counter affections (7 P’s)
We begin to daily battle a stronghold of oppression
“When all the people were baptized, it came to pass that
Jesus also was baptized; and while He prayed, the heaven
was opened. 22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form
like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which
said, ‘You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.’”
(Lk 3:21,22)
“Abba, Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup
from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
(Mk 14:36)
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (Mt 27:46)
 Renounce the lies about God and ourselves the father
of lies planted in us
 Change what you believe foundationally about you
“You are not an orphan. You are a son/daughter”
 Listen to the voice of the Father (empowers, provides




security)
Be submitted to His mission for our life
Focus your life on what Jesus focused his life on, the
Father God
