Student Voices: Transition
• JMU has enabled me to transform into the young
adult I never knew I wanted to be. JMU gave me the
opportunities to be involved with activities that
allowed me to meet people who helped me grow
and learn about myself and others.
• JMU is an environment where I felt safe becoming
myself -- joining organizations, taking on leadership
positions, and participating in all kinds of activities.
Student Voices: Decisions
• My classmates and professors at JMU have
motivated me to become the best student I can be.
They've encouraged independence and have
challenged me to think outside the box. I believe
these characteristics will help me be successful in my
future.
• The community here at JMU made me feel
comfortable taking risks and trying new things, which
allowed me to learn who I really am, where I want to
be, and what I want to do with my life.
Student Voices: Engagement
• JMU has provided me with an unprecedented
amount of opportunities for success. From student
organizations, membership on institutional boards
and committees, and meaningful student
employment, JMU provided me with the means to
identify and achieve goals I wanted to accomplish.
• JMU has contributed to my success by affording me
the opportunity to find something that I'm
passionate about which has led to great learning
opportunities and memorable experiences.
