Originally produced by de Havilland Canada (DHC)
Debuted in 1984 and was named the de Havilland
Canada Dash 8 or DHC-8
Now produced by Bombardier Aerospace
Since 1996 Dash 8’s have been referred to as the Q
series
To date over 900 hundred have been built

Q400 Current Events
Between October and September of 2007 there were
three major landing gear malfunctions (all on
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS)
No fatalities as a result
2 the landing gear got stuck descending
1 the right wing gear collapsed
Led to SAS to remove it Q400 fleet from service
February 12, 2009: A Q400 en-route to Buffalo Niagara
International from Newark Liberty International
crashed into a house in Clarence Center, NY
