How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Work orders may be projects, PMs or any type of
work and may be a simple or detailed as needed.
19
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Work orders may be manually or automatically
created.
20
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?

work.
21
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Contractor work orders may be linked to
MaintSmart’s purchasing section.
22
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Only two fields (equipment and task) are required
to create a simple work order. Filters for drop-down
boxes further speed equipment and task selection.
23
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Enter up to 2 GB of text details for each work
order.
24
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Add unlimited file attachments to each work

 All work order fields may be automatically
populated when a new work order is created. This
saves time and provides consistency.
26
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Multiple work orders may be combined to create a
‘Composite Work Order’. Great for big projects!
27
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Existing work orders may be saved as ‘Work
Order Templates’ (boiler-plate copies). These
templates may be used in several ways to create
copies of themselves for repetitive work.
28
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Work order templates may be linked to meters
then automatically create work orders based upon
equipment runtime schedules. This saves time and
insures work is created when needed.
Meter example: might be a ‘hour meter’ or a PLC counter instruction.
29
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Meters? What the heck are meters? Meters are
simply values with a unit you may define. A meter
may have up to six value/units.
Here’s a common meter example: “Change motor oil every 6 months
or 6000 miles”. The meter may be named: ‘Oil Change’; the
value/units could be 6 months and 6000 miles.
30
How Can Work Orders Benefit My Company?
 Link needed parts to work order templates. When
work order is created part(s) are automatically used
from inventory.
31

 PM task lists are similar to work orders but are in
a list format.
33

 Date sensitive grid filters are useful for quick
access to a particular grid view and are stored as
menu items. Example: “Bob’s Weekly PM’s”
34
How Are PMs Different Than Work Orders?
 Although in a list format PM task lists may
contain up to 2 GB of detail text if needed.
