Why We Fall In Love

"Our primary motivation as human beings is
to expand the self and to increase our abilities
and our effectiveness.
Being in a relationship makes you feel like you
can be effective. It makes you feel like you are
doing something right and that you have
someone to lean on.
One major aspect of falling in love is that you
have to be attracted to the person you are in
"love" with. There are some physical aspects
that will attract you to them right away. After
you have the phase of being attracted to
someone then you get to know more about
them and fall in love with their personality.
Most of the time many people will end up
falling in love with your best friend. Your best
friend typically has the same interests as you
do. And you will have already grown to know
everything about them.

People fall in love because they want to share their
life with another person and they want to have
someone to spend time with and someone to
depend on, not because they are scared to be alone
but because they love the other.
When people fall in love they fall in love with that
person in its self, everything about them.
For a lasting relationship you need three important
things: communication, trust and loyalty without
those things a relationship will not last and also
passion and affection because if you don't have a
passionate feeling towards the other, the
relationship will fail due to needs not being met
emotionally.
When you are in love you go through the stage
where you always want to spend time with them.

What Is Lust
•
•
•
•
Lust is the physical attraction to a person of the opposite sex, usually a sexual
attraction. You may not know a lot about who this person is, but you see something
in them that is infatuating.
If you are looking at pictures of an attractive man/woman and you're married but you
keep looking at the pictures then you are in lust. If you stop looking at the picture
because you don't want to hurt your significant then you are in love.
When you are in lust you care more about the physical interaction then the emotional
part.
Lust is also the stage where you don’t care about your partners flaws. In your mind
they are cute and funny.

Why We Fall Out Of Love

"It's very easy nowadays to fall in lust and mistake that for being in love. And once that
lusting desire is over, you fall out of love.” (“WHY DO PEOPLE FALL OUT OF LOVE”)
When you have been with someone for a long time the adrenaline rush and excitement with
that person start to go away. You meet new people and feel chemistry with them and start to
think the "grass is greener" with someone else.
People can fall in love due to chemistry, but it usually won’t last as long as people who fall in
love with friendship, respect and commitment.
People who take their relationships slow have a better chance of it lasting. They haven't had
the satisfaction of everything they might have wanted.
Different moral standards will cause a person to fall out of love. If each person has different
expectations for how quickly the physical aspect of the relationship should progress
resentment can grow.
Too much time away from each other during the early part of a relationship can cause a
person to fall out of love. The person begins to lose the initial chemistry and the emotional
aspect wasn’t ever established so they realize it is easier without them.

To have a successful relationship there
are many different factors.
–
–
–
–
–
•
•
•
Trust/Honesty
Similar Priorities/Beliefs
Communication
Attraction
Respect
Losing one or more of these factors
may result in falling out of love.
Another reason why someone may fall
out of love is because they find out
their mate is an alcoholic or is addicted
to illegal substances.
Sometimes falling out of love is
unavoidable but there are ways to get
the love back but it would take a lot of
time and effort like going to
counseling.

Effects Of Break Ups On Men
•
•
•
•
Immediate Denial: Men look for a good time to hide their unhappiness because
they don't want their ex to know that they are unhappy. They typically go out with
other men and get drunk to forget their problems.
Loss of Emotional Support: Men usually rely on woman for emotional support.
When they don't have that they start to feel lonely and empty.
Freedom: Men like the fact of being free and having a new interest in woman.
They also may rush into dating due to their last relationship. When this happens,
men find it frustrating because they realize that it is going to take a lot of time and
effort to be comfortable and be himself with this new partner when he may have
already been at that point with his ex.
Aggressive: Men can get angry very easily when they are going through a break up.
They start to get jealous and possessive over their ex because he still wants to
pursue or work it out with her.

Effects Of Break Ups On Women
•
•
•
•
•
Depression - Having no energy to do anything, they don't want to go out with
friends or they just don’t feel like talking to anybody.
Under eating - They might feel like their body image might have had something to
do with the break up. They might also get disgusted (for instance if it was a bad
breakup and he cheated so on) so they don't have an appetite, nothing sounds
good to them.
Over eating - They might go to food as a source of comfort.
Exercising - It relieves a lot of stress and makes you feel really good about yourself
and it can also help with confidence.
New look- Often people resort to a new hair do, like a cut or color, for a new
change because it's a new "them".

Why People Cheat

7 reasons why people cheat
BORED: that is the most common way now a days as to why people cheat. Meeting someone new is exciting and
new and fresh.
DEPENDENCE: a cheater is dependant because they are not strong enough to just break up with their boyfriend or
girlfriend.
CONFUSION: when you are confused about how you feel or how another person feels about you, we get insecure
and are in need for attention so we go to someone else to meet our needs and make us feel wanted.
BECAUSE THEY LET YOU: If you let your partner get away with being a cheater once he is more likely to cheat
again. They will feel like it will be easier to get away with since you let them have another chance.
NURTURING: when or if you are in a bad relationship it’s not easy to just get up and leave because maybe we are
raising kids together we feel trapped so we run into the arms of someone who will treat us right.
REVENGE: If your boyfriend/girlfriend cheats on you. You might feel the need to have to get them back and make
them feel the hurt that you did. Although, all that is doing is making it worse because you keep getting hurt, and
it’s a never ending cycle.
CONFIRMATION OF ATTRACTIVENESS: when you've been with someone for so long and that person is possibly
taking advantage of us we begin to wonder if we really are attractive to them. When you have an affair it feels
good that someone else is attracted to you, it's a confidence boost.
THRILL: the thrill of sneaking, and being risky and secretive is a thrill for some people. They live off a forbidden
romance.
THEY DON'T CONSIDER IT CHEATING, EVEN THOUGH YOU MIGHT: it’s usually a miscommunication between two
people, for example: the 2nd date you might think you are an item and on the 4th date he might think that's when
you're an item, therefore both of you can still be doing whatever the other wants until you become exclusive.

Incest
•
•
•
“The English word incest is derived from the Latin incest's, which has a general meaning of
"impure, unchaste". “However, children born of incestuous unions have greatly increased risk
of death and disability at least in part due to genetic diseases caused by the inbreeding”
Incest is a sexual relationship with someone who is in your family, whether that be blood
member, household family member or either a step brother or sister. this is illegal but in
some countries acceptable (Russia, China, Spain, France etc..) and sometimes against most
religions.
Falling in love with someone inside your family. Does not happen very often but it does
happen. Typically when it does most people will judge you and say bad stuff about you.
In my opinion I think it is nasty, but if we are letting it be more ok for same sex marriage and
love I don’t understand what the main difference between these two topics are other than
the fact it’s family you are talking about.

Same Sex Love
•
•
•
Scientific and medical research has shown that it is not a choice, you do not choose to be this way
you get to be brought up. In other words people were born this way, genetically, chemically and
emotionally. Being homosexual has been an issue for many years. In the State of Washington it is
illegal to marry someone of the same sex. I would assume that has caused a lot of stress on families
because either the family is against homosexuality and don’t agree with it because it’s against their
religion, or the family agrees with it but they can’t get married in the state they live in. Many
heterosexual people do not understand the effects of being homosexual. Gay people might have
trouble at home because their parents don’t approve or maybe they are having hardships because
they don’t know how to tell anyone. They may become depressed and feel isolated because they
are scared of what people might say or do. Also there is bullying, in middle school, high school,
almost everywhere you go and that could really have a long effect on someone. All in all I think love
is love, whether that be with a girl or a boy. You can not help the way your heart feels. People
should be able to express themselves in all different ways and society shouldn’t be so judgmental. If
its not hurting you, let people love whoever they want to love.
Love can come in many different forms. There is no way from preventing love. When you fall in love
you can just tell yourself ‘I am not going to be in love with this person anymore.’
Love is a natural thing some people may think being in love with the other sex is not natural but to
them is might be.

Difference From Dating And Marriage
• Dating
• Marriage
• Getting excited about kissing your
mate.
• Doing new things with them.
• Going to the movies.
• Going on a date.
• Snuggling.
• Late nights talking on the phone.
• Get excited about buying new things for
the house.
• Little fights about nothing.
• Going out with the kids.
• Going to kids’ school activities.
• Doing the laundry.
Although it seems repetitive you are with
the person you love so you get through it
and your love grows stronger.

How Kids Effect Your Love
•
•
•
•
When a couple has children, it is one of the most difficult
time in a relationship. Staying up late and paying all your
attention to the kids leaves your partner feeling neglected.
They will start to feel like you don’t have enough time for
them.
Dads will start to become jealous because their wife won’t
have enough time for them. They will feel like they aren’t
good enough but often times it is because the mother feels
like they need to give their newborn as much attention as
they can.
What they don’t realize is that to keep their love going they
need to find a balance between baby time and relationship
time. If you forget about your significant other that’s when
problems start to happen.
Having a baby takes a lot of time and energy and most
times you start to forget about showing affection to your
significant other.
"And Baby Makes Three." How Becoming Parents Can Affect Your Relationship. Web. 12 Apr. 2012.
Psychologists have shown it takes between 90
seconds and 4 minutes to decide if you fancy
someone.
Research has shown this has little to do with what is said,
rather
55% is through body language
38% is the tone and speed of their voice
Only 7% is through what they say
