Schools by the state for achieving Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) at least
three years in a row.

honor, the Gladys M. Thompson Distinguished Service Award.

Michelle Mikes, District 6-12 math supervisor received the John Neff Award for Excellence, reserved for supervisors who
inspire and mentor fellow teachers and advocate for math education.

Media center staffs at McClure Middle, Belmont Hills Elementary and Russell Elementary received
2012 Exemplary/Exceptional Library Media Program Awards from the Georgia Department of Education.

Howard Siggelko and the CCSD Office of Records Management given 2012 Award for Excellence in Archival Program
Development from the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Board.

Erica McDonald, instructor at the Cobb/Paulding Adult Education Center, recently received the Teacher of Honor award
from the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education.
•
Veteran bus driver Michael Graham took top honors for the Cobb County Bus Road-e-o for a second straight year, then
went on to capture first place at the state Road-e-o competition.
