‘e-Setu’ the People’s Bridge : …………… Reaching the unreached PROJECT E-SETU ( Pilot e-governance Project of UNDP- DOPT ( GOI ) at Jorhat District , Assam , India for IMPROVED CITIZENS ACCESS TO INFORMATION AND GOVERNMENT SERVICES ) ASSAM JORHAT PROJECT E-SETU Project e-setu is the Pilot e-governance initiative of Jorhat District, Assam sponsored by UNDP–DOPT (Government of India), making Jorhat the first e-administration District in the State of Assam and the entire North –East Region. Setu in the local language means a Bridge LAN and 1 Govt. Kiosk at DC Office 6 Circle Offices at Teok, Titabar, Jorhat East, Jorhat west, Mariani , Kamalabari 2 Govt Kiosk at Titabar & Majuli Majuli SDM Titabar SDM and eSetu is the bridge between the People and the Government. This Project facilitates improved Citizens access to Information and Government Services. People can’t but ‘e-Setu’ can….. Majuli, one of the world’s largest river island and well known for rich vaishnavite culture falls in Jorhat district. Through the project e-setu this island has been connected digitally with the Deputy Commissioner’s office at Jorhat. Public Facilitation Center at SubDivisional Office, Majuli. Private ‘kiosk’ at Garmur is running successfully and more will be opened in near future.
