Project e-setu is the Pilot e-governance
initiative of Jorhat District, Assam
sponsored by UNDP–DOPT (Government
of India), making Jorhat the first
e-administration District in the State
of Assam and the entire North –East
Region.
Setu in the local language means a Bridge

Breaking the Natural Barrier : Bridge to Majuli.
People can’t but ‘e-Setu’ can…..
Majuli, one of the world’s largest river
island and well known for rich vaishnavite
culture falls in Jorhat district.
Through the project e-setu this island has
been connected digitally with the Deputy
Commissioner’s office at Jorhat.
 Public Facilitation Center at SubDivisional Office, Majuli.
 Private ‘kiosk’ at Garmur is running
successfully and more will be opened in near
future.
 Community Information Centers (CICs) at
Kamalabari and Jhengraimukh are to be
included in the near future
