from a variety of sources
• analyse data
• apply information relevantly
• demonstrate understanding of
appropriate links
7-10 marks
Evidence of detailed research involving
the selection and evaluation of a wide
range of relevant sources.
Critical analysis and application of the
research, with clear links made to
appropriate theories and concepts.
AO3 – Develop and Realise
AO3 Develop and Realise
• problem-solving
• decision-making
• creative thinking
• to achieve planned outcomes
14-20 marks
Candidates take appropriate decisions and
appropriate data is collected and thoroughly
analysed. The project plan is fully implemented and
the outcome is fully realised to a high standard and
consistent with a candidate’s finally
agreed plan.
There is clear evidence of changes to the initial
project plan or title or aims and objectives, with clear
and appropriate reasons for any changes.
Candidates communicate their findings fluently in an
appropriate format, synthesising information from a
variety of sources and present them within a logical
and coherent structure which addresses
closely the nature of the task.
Content of your presentation
• Your presentation should be about two things:
– your end product
– your journey through the project process.
• Give equal time for explaining the content of
your project and ‘telling your story’.
• Talk about the highs and lows of the project
process, skills learned along the way, impact it
has had upon your life, what you have learned
about yourself etc.
Production Log:
• You are required to complete ‘Presentation
record part A’ (page 12) from the production
log prior to the presentation and discuss this
with your supervisor. Do this in the week
beginning Monday 7th March.
• Your supervisor will complete part B (page 13)
after your presentation.
• Complete the ‘Reflection’ (page 14) after the
presentation.
• Final date of submission – Friday 25th March.

A checklist for presentations
Presentation:
• Does your introduction grab participant's attention and
explain your objectives?
• Do you follow this by clearly defining the points of the
presentation?
• Are these main points in logical sequence?
• Do these flow well?
• Do the main points need support from visual aids?
• Does your closing summarize the presentation clearly and
concisely?
• Is the conclusion strong?
• Have your tied the conclusion to the introduction?
Delivery:
• Are you knowledgeable about the topic
covered in your presentation?
• Do you have your notes in order?
• Where and how will you present (indoors,
outdoors, standing, sitting, etc.)?
• Have you visited the presentation site?
• Have you checked your visual aids to ensure
they are working and you know how to use
them?
Appearance:
• Make sure you are dressed and groomed
appropriately and in keeping with the
audience's
• expectations.
• Practice your speech standing, paying close
attention to your body language, even your
• posture, both of which will be assessed by the
audience.
Visual Aids:
• Are the visual aids easy to read and easy to
understand?
• Are they tied into the points you are trying to
communicate?
• Can they be easily seen from all areas of the
room?
