What It Means to be Inorganic
~Made from rocks or minerals
~Stable individually, but can react with other
materials
~Can be natural or synthetic
Water- Solubility
~It will dissolve into water
Examples
~Acids, salts, toxic metals
~Iron, copper, platinum, and other heavy
metals
~Ceramics, glass, some pigments, and some
inks
~pesticides and fertilizers
Sources
~A lot come from non- point sources such as:
-agricultural and urban runoff
-badly stored automotive fluids
~Others are from point sources
-industrial plants
- even water treatment facilities,

Negatives
~Large quantities of these materials can make
water unfit to drink
~A lot of it can kill off aquatic species
