Also ensure:
 Rooms are spacious, airy and have good infrastructure.
 Series of Test Booklets to be indicated on one copy of seating plan
for Invigilator to distribute – not to be indicated on desks/tables.
 Direction placards are displayed
 There are NO maps/charts/graffiti etc. in rooms.





Separate toilets for male/female candidates.
Drinking water provided.
Arrangements at the entrance of the building for keeping books etc.
Bundles of answer sheets are made room-wise.
Seating plans to be displayed not earlier than two hours on the
examination day.
DAY OF
EXAMINATION





This Screening Test will be held in Single Session from
11.00am to 01.00pm.
Supervisor/staff to reach the Venue at 9:00 AM.
The seating plans should be displayed centrally at a
prominent place.
Coordinating Supervisor to ensure safe delivery of Test
Booklets to the Supervisor at the venue at 9:30 AM.
Coordinating Supervisor to ensure that boxes for the
correct session are handed over to the concerned
Supervisor.

Candidates to be allowed entry to the examination hall at
10:30AM.

Candidate who does not hold Admit Card or acknowledgement or
any other valid document, contact HPPSC Office on Phone Nos.
0177- 2623786 for further instructions.

Mobile Phones/Pagers/any other communication device BANNED
inside the premises where the examination is being conducted.

Candidates not allowed to take books/ calculators/ cigarette/
lighter etc. inside the examination hall.
 Invigilators to issue answer sheets only to the present
candidates.
 Distribution of Answer Sheets to the Candidate at
10:50AM.
 Test Booklets are in four series – A, B, C, D.
 Additional sheets have been included at the end of each
test booklet (question paper) for rough work. No rough
sheet will be provided for rough work.
 Distribute test booklets at 10:57 AM.
 No candidate to be allowed entry in the examination
hall later than 11:10 AM.
 Invigilators to collect E.Q. documents in support of
his/her claim made in the Appl. Form.
 Candidate not allowed to leave the examination hall till
examination is over i.e., 01:00 PM.
 If a candidate comes with court orders, he/she may be
allowed to appear after obtaining an undertaking.

In case of doubt/mistake in question paper, if any, candidate
to be advised to make representation to the Commission.

Defective Test Booklet to be replaced by Test Booklet of
same series.
The Commission had already introduced the OMR Carbonless
Answer Sheet in HPAS Exam-2011. The same sheet will also
be used for the Naib Tehsildar (Prlm) Exam-2012. This OMR
Answer Sheet Contains TWO Parts i.e. Upper Part
(Commission Copy) and lower part (Candidate’s Copy). The
Invigilator must ensure that the Upper Part (Commission
Copy) in PINK Colour be collected from the candidate and
lower part (Candidate’s Copy) in Green Colour be handed over
to the candidate. The Invigilators to satisfy themselves that
all the Answer Sheets have been collected and are in order.
The concerned Invigilator and the Centre Supervisor will be
personally held responsible for loss or misplacement of any
OMR Answer Sheet.

OPENING OF TEST BOOKLETS
PACKING & DESPATCH




Question Papers – to be opened at 10:15 AM.
To be opened in the presence of Assistant
Supervisors and Invigilators.
Cut open the tape pasted on top side along
middle and the top edges.
Don’t open the boxes with force. It may damage
the material packed inside.
AFTER THE
EXAMINATION IS
OVER
PACKING AND DESPATCH

Supervisor to arrange OMR answer sheets Roll No. wise and
check with Attendance List. Ensure total number of scripts
tally with actual number of present candidates. This is to be
double checked and seriousness of missing answer sheets (as
received in the Commission’s office) to be re emphasized.

Arrange used answer sheets in roll number order. Ensure
total number of scripts tally with number of present
candidates.

To be packed without any fold or crumpling at the edges.

Pins, tags, punch not to be used.


Wrap in superior quality packing paper without using string,
twine or gum.
Protect with card-board strip at bottom & top.

Tie with string or twine and put in card board.

The Following material should be packed, sealed & kept ready
for dispatch in Packet No. – I
- Used OMR Answer Sheets (Upper Part)
- Certificate of opening of Test Booklets
- Absentee statement
 Following miscellaneous items will be packed in
Packet-II:
- Attendance Lists
- Specimen of Seal used for sending the packets.
- Opening Certificate.
- No relation certificate.
- Plan of seating arrangements
- Supervisor’s irregularity Report.

Despatch cloth parcel containing Packet-I immediately on conclusion of
session by speed post (insured for Rs.200/-). Two hundred only
addressed to Smt. Sumana Chaudhary, Deputy Secretary, HP Public
Service Commission, Nigam Vihar, Shimla – 171002.

On the left hand Top Corner of the Parcel a code word i.e.
indicating date and session should be written.

Name of the examination [i.e. NT (Prelims)] should not be written on
the outer cover of the parcel that is dispatched.

SOME
COMMON PROBLEMS

To contact Control Room for ascertaining venue with reference
to name, date of birth and father’s name of the candidate. If he
is at the correct venue he should be given a seat and
undertaking obtained. He should also furnish a photograph as
indicated against S.No. 5 above. If his venue is a different one
he should be allowed. However, if time is not sufficient for him
to reach he may, on his written request and undertaking, be
permitted to take the examination Photo and undertaking be
taken. The Supervisor does not have any discretion to allow a
candidate who does not have any valid document without
approval from the control room of the Commission.
