THE 2014 BIOGAS OPPORTUNITIES ROADMAP
VOLUNTARY ACTIONS
• Promote biogas utilization through existing programs
• Foster investment in biogas systems
• Strengthen markets for biogas systems and system
products
• Improve coordination and collaboration

BIOGAS OPPORTUNITIES ROADMAP
Organic material
Is delivered to
the digester system
This may include animal manure,
food scraps, agricultural residues
or wastewater solids.
“…biogas systems can and
should be an integral part
of America’s energy
strategy moving forward.”

2014 CLEAN WATER SRF AMENDMENTS
THE WATER RESOURCE REFORM AND DEVELOPMENT ACT (WRRDA)
• CWSRF applicants must consider energy aspects of projects
• CWSRF loan recipients must have a fiscal sustainability plan (FSP)
• Expands the reach of funding to energy-related projects
http://lw.acec.org/userfiles/file/WRRDA%20--%20SRF%20guidance%20from%20EPA.pdf
SRF GREEN PROJECT RESERVE (GPR)
10% of State SRF funds are for:
• Energy Efficiency
• Water Efficiency
• Green infrastructure
• Environmentally Innovative Projects
CO-DIGESTION ECONOMIC ANALYSIS TOOL (Co-EAT)
• Excel based tool
• Use it to assess the initial economic feasibility
of food waste co-digestion at wastewater
treatment plants
• Work is underway to update Co-EAT
• More streamlined
• More user-friendly
• Compatible with certain other EPA tools.

• FAQs
• Info graphics
• Links focused on the wastewater sector
Please send your ideas about types of information you would like to
see the new Biogas Page.
On average, Americans double
their energy use every 20 years.
