• May be limiting your options without it.
• Highly recommended for 1/C and 2/C
• Required for JMSDF/FOREX

Sub Cruises
• Bring sneakers for underway
• Bring PT gear
• No aerosols of any kind

Midshipmen Embarkation Debarkation Team
(MEDT)
• Plane delays/cancellations
• Need guidance or directions-call
• Can’t reach destination ship or squadron-call



• No ROTC ribbons
• OCONUS – Proper Civilian Attire.


Medical Records:
• Issued to you for cruise
• Must carry on you while traveling
• Must return to unit after cruise
• DO NOT LOSE!
OPMIS

We must have your travel dates:
• Start (when you leave home).
• End (when you get home).

Upon return, call me immediately so
that we can get your training dates.
• Failure to do this could affect your stipend/book
allowance in the Fall semester if not updated
correctly.
Travel

Personal Funds ($$$)($200-300)
• Bring sufficient cash or traveler’s checks for two weeks
of travel (taxis, food, hotels, etc…)
• Have multiple means of getting cash (ATM card, check
card, credit card(s))
• Protect your wallet

SAVE ALL RECEIPTS FOR TRAVEL CLAIM
• Airport parking, taxi receipts, toll roads, hotel expenses
(if incurred), etc.

DO NOT rearrange any travel with the airline
directly! The number to call will be provided.

Travel uniform is appropriate civilian attire.
Limit baggage to one sea bag, a garment bag, &
one carry-on (back pack or briefcase)

Use only a sea bag if on sub cruise
Only need 1 pair of khakis on sub cruise
CORTRAMID bring lots of civilian clothes
Keep orders, ID and medical records on you (carry-on)
and not in baggage
Pay and Allowances

MIDN Training Pay is $33.56 a day or $1006.80
per 30 day calendar month. Your advance is
80% of your projected days. Pay is based on
35% of O1 basic pay with less that two years.

BOQ/BEQ/Navy Lodge charges are
reimbursable if paid by traveler.

Travel Claims (DD-1351-2)
• Contact Ms. Wittnebel or Mrs. Strickland when you
get home to complete travel claim.
• Lodging receipts (if applicable).
• Keep taxi cab/travel receipts.
• Food is covered by per diem (No food receipts
needed)
Conduct and Safety

Conduct yourself in a military
manner:
• Salute all officers
• Return all salutes given to you
• Be respectful of all personnel
• Keep an open mind

Reporting aboard:
• Salute Ensign then OOD (reverse when
leaving ship)

Cleanliness
• Keep your rack stowed for sea
• If you make a mess, clean it up
• SHOWER!!

Protect your belongings
• Bring a pad lock
• Protect your wallet

Safety
• Do not operate ship’s equipment unless
told to do so!

means your sent home)
• You represent Auburn and Tuskegee NROTC
