Maintaining enrollment in CTE courses
when more and more emphasis is being
placed on academic courses.
Developing a mindset for teachers,
students, administrators and parents of
rigor and relevance in CTE courses.
Emphasizing the importance of students
becoming completers in a career focus.
Challenges
Encourage school districts to require one
unit of computer technology which
emphasizes applications (Word, Excel,
Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) as a
graduation requirement.
– Computerized Business Applications or
Computer Applications I & II
Challenges
Implement Input Technologies into Current
Arkansas Keyboarding Frameworks.
– Current technologies include speech
recognition; handwriting recognition tools,
such as Table PCs; scanners; PDAs, and
other handheld devices. Educators must
provide instruction on a variety of input
technologies for successful academic,
professional, and personal applications.
