Los intereses de investigación del Dr. Burks se enfocan en alergia alimenticia y reacciones adversas a
alimentos. Su trabajo se ha centrado en la identificación molecular de alergenos en alimentos
específicos. En mejorar nuestro entendimiento de los mecanismos de reacciones adversos a alimentos
y el desarrollo de un tratamiento oportuno. (modelos animales y estudios clínicos en humanos) Está al
cargo de varios estudios clínicos con inmunoterapia por vía de la mucosa de moléculas recombinantes
Recibe fondos de investigación del National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Burks ha publicado en revistas médicas indexadas de alto nivel, y ha escrito capítulos de libros y
múltiples resúmenes. Es miembro de la sección de NIH Hypersensitivity, Autoimmune, and Immunemediated Diseases .
