Steps water quality model
1. Water balance (RIBASIM).
Output RIBASIM, input WFD-explorer: shapefiles
(GIS) + data on flows (.csv)
This data is already available to you (Alper). The
manual (WFD-explorer, download from WFDexplorer website) offers instructions on how to
import these files.

2. Substance balance
(conservative substance-calculation with retention
factors for non-conservative substances)
INPUT: diffuse sources, point sources (excel of csv).

 The data files can be provided to you for as far
as you don’t have them yet
 The manual gives an exact description of data
formats and how to import them to the explorer

3. Ecology in the water bodies
Add values for toxicity, modifications, flow regime,
temperature to all water bodies
Input file: csv or excel: X and Y, values
(manual gives a detailled description of file formats
and how to include them in the model)

Source code: is mostly already available to you (look
in installation files  open files with nodepad)
Output: model of the Büyük Menderes with
hydrology, water quality, ecology, possible
measures  this will be provided to you and
used in the next mission
For the measures and costs of measures work still
needs to be conducted.
