Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and the Most Benevolent Bihar Anjuman is not an organization (nor intends to be), but simply a network of individuals whose hearts beat for Bihar & Jharkhand and for fellow Muslims worldwide. www.biharanjuman.org http://groups.yahoo.com/group/biharanjuman Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims • Backwardness of the Muslim world: due to people’s autocratic tendencies regarding their own viewpoints, their deciding the affairs without consultation, unwillingness to accept advice; indeed, often severely censuring any attempt by others to offer advice. • “And if you had been rude and harsh-hearted, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them, and consult them in affairs. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely upon Him.” [Sûrah Âl `Imrân: 159] …… …….. …… The inspiration behind the Yahoo! Group. www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 2 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims Bringing together Muslims from all walks of life to interact and act jointly with an objective to educate, motivate, inspire and instill confidence in our young generation. For another Karbala? www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 9 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims GOOD DEEDS, why?? • And give glad tidings to those who believe and do righteous good deeds, that for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). Every time they will be provided with a fruit therefrom, they will say: "This is what we were provided with before," and they will be given things in resemblance (i.e. in the same form but different in taste) and they shall have therein Azwajun Mutahharatun (purified mates or wives), (having no menses, stools, urine, etc.) and they will abide therein forever. ( سورة البقرة, Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #25) www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 10 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims GOOD DEEDS, why?? • Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians, and Sabians, whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and do righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve . ( سورة البقرة, Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #62) • And those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they will dwell therein forever. ( سورة البقرة, Al-Baqara, Chapter #2, Verse #82) www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 11 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims GOOD DEEDS, why?? • And as for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah) and do righteous good deeds, Allah will pay them their reward in full. And Allah does not like the Zalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers). ( سورة آل عمران, Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #57) • Those who answered (the Call of) Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) after being wounded; for those of them who did good deeds and feared Allah, there is a great reward. ( سورة آل عمران, Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #172) • And whoever does righteous good deeds, male or female, and is a true believer in the Oneness of Allah (Muslim), such will enter Paradise and not the least injustice, even to the size of a Naqeera (speck on the back of a datestone), will be done to them. ( سورة النساء, An-Nisa, Chapter #4, Verse #124) www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 12 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims Enjoy this world and eat as cattle eat?? • Verily Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds, to Gardens beneath which rivers flow; while those who reject Allah will enjoy (this world) and eat as cattle eat; and the Fire will be their abode. [Quran, Surah#47, Ayah#12] • Alternative translation: “The essential aspect of Allah's association, help and support is that as a result of their Eiman and righteous deeds, Allah will bestow on them a blissful heavenly life the freshness of which will never fade. However for people who deny truth and think that life means only physical existence in this world, there is no difference between their lives and that of animals. Like the animals they eat, drink and enjoy life (and then die). The result of this concept of life is nothing but death and destruction (of human dignity).” www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 13 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims Yahoo!Group launched: 14th June 2004 www.biharanjuman.or g launched: 3rd Oct, 2005 www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 14 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims • Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "I command you to do five things: – – – – – a group (organization), Hearing (Listening), Obedience (obeying the amir), Hijra (as the need arises), and Jihad – internal (continuous process) + external (when called for). • He who secedes from the community, as much as a span, has cast off the tie of Islam from his neck unless he returns, and he who summons to what the pre-Islamic people believed belongs to the assemblies of Jahannam even if he fasts, prays, and asserts that he is a Muslim." • Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith#3694, narrated by Al-Harith al-Ash'ari www.biharanjuman.org Nurturing a Culture of Mutual Respect Slide 15 Striving towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of Muslims Moderators (Yahoo!
